Check out this gorgeous concept art from The Mandalorian!

Disney gave us our first-ever live-action Star Wars series with The Mandalorian, about a lone bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) who forms a connection with a mysterious, Force-sensitive Child known the internet over as Baby Yoda, which he protects from criminals and Imperial remnants who want to harness its abilities for their own nefarious ends. Largely unconnected from the rest of the Star Wars universe, the show struck a chord with fans, and we’re now eagerly awaiting the second season.

At the end of each new episode, we would be treated to concept art rolling over the credits. Now, Disney is holding a virtual Mandalorian rewatch party, with a different episode on tap each week, and they’re sharing that art on Twitter for all to enjoy.

We start, appropriately enough, with “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian,” where Mando takes out a gang of unruly aliens as he secures his newest bounty, and by the end meets the little foundling who will change his life. Check out the artwork by Ryan Church and Nick Gindraux:

I love that the final product compares to the original art, and how close it usually is!

Here’s the Razor Crest, the Mandalorian’s ship, narrowly avoiding certain doom in the jaws of the giant crocodile/walrus-like creature, the Ravinak. Lucasfilm artist Doug Chiang is behind this one:

Now we come to “Chapter 2: The Child.” No wonder the internet is in love with him:

Some of the artwork from “The Child” is by John Park. Below, Mando and Baby Yoda tip-toe their way through a dangerous desert landscape:

Mando has to fight both Trandoshan bounty hunters who are hunting the Child and Jawa junk collectors who dismantled his ship before he can make it off the desert planet of Arvala-7. Jama Jurabaev and Christian Alzmann help visualize his adventure:

Here’s a piece for “Chapter 3: The Sin” from artist A.J. Frena:

This was one of the best episodes of The Mandalorian’s first season. Mando was prepared to turn Baby Yoda in for the bounty but found he just couldn’t do it. We also got some time with the mysterious Mandalorian Armorer (Emily Swallow), rendered here by Nick Gindraux:

The Mando’s brethren come to his and Baby Yoda’s rescue in artwork by Christian Alzmann and Doug Chiang.

Finally, we have artwork from “Chapter 4: Sanctuary,” which finds Mando and Baby Yoda on the run and looking for a place to lay low. It doesn’t go well. Artwork by Ryan Church:

So Mando doesn’t really find sanctuary in “Sanctuary,” but he does meet his eventual BFF, former Rebel shock trooper Cara Due (Gina Carano). She shows up in this next set of art by Christian Alzmann:

And finally, here’s some art from “Chapter 5: The Gunslinger” by John Asloarona:

Absolutely gorgeous!

The Mandalorian season 1 is available right now on Disney+. We’re looking forward to seeing more art as the rewatch continues!
