The coronavirus pandemic has delayed in several summer blockbusters as well as many television series, including AMC’s The Walking Dead. That show has had to push back its season 10 finale to  later in the year — we’re still not sure when it will drop. The show’s spinoffs are suffering the same fate, as Fear the Walking Dead — which is heading into its sixth season — won’t be able to do much post-production work until after this pandemic is over.

The official Walking Dead Twitter account shed some light on the reasons for the delays, showing us walkers look like before and after effects are added:

Then there’s the other spinoff, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which will follow a group of teenagers who grew up during the zombie apocalypse. It was set to premiere after the season 10 finale of the main show, meaning it was supposed to debut this past Sunday, but has been pushed back.

So when will we see that show? World Beyond co-creator and showrunner Matt Negrete took to Instagram to post an update of sorts:

“Today was the original premiere date of @twdworldbeyond which had to be pushed to later this year due to current events,” Negrete writes. “On the bright side, given how each day blends into the next, ‘later this year’ will be here before we know it. Til then, let’s all do what we can to stay safe and healthy look out for each other. Better days are coming.”

We still don’t know a ton of details about World Beyond, but whatever post-apocalyptic society these kids are a part of, it looks pretty advanced. Also, the latest easer at least hinted that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) might be involved:

But for now, we’re in zombie limbo, waiting for our next hit. I’m hoping production teams can get the equipment they need to work their special brand of magic from home, because I need my Walking Dead fix, you guys.
