Where did Roger, Brianna, and Jemmy end up?

After a season of will they, won’t they, Roger, Brianna, and Jemmy finally took the leap and walked through the stones intending to go back to their own time. Once they realized that Jemmy could travel like his parents, they wasted very little time in making it happen.

However, as we saw in last week’s episode, “Journeycake,” something went wrong during their journey. They definitely made it through the stones to the other side, but the other side doesn’t appear to be what they were expecting.

Based on Roger’s reaction, it seems they’ve ended up somewhere they didn’t anticipate. Now, this could mean several things. Maybe they didn’t actually time travel and ended up where they started. After all, the area surrounding the stones looks the same as the area they just left from. Or maybe they ended up in the same time but in a different location.

I think the likely theory to run with here is that they’ve time-traveled, but not to the time where they were hoping to go. As someone who hasn’t read the books, I’m not sure how much detail they go into regarding the complexities of time travel in this world. I’ve always wondered why the stones take them to a specific time in history; what is so special about this century?

Maybe we’ll finally understand more about how the stones work after we explore the detour the MacKenzie family has taken. Whatever it is, something is not right. Is the MacKenzie family lost in history somewhere? And if so, will they ever find their way back home?

Tune in, folks.
