The final season of Netflix’s Dark drops on the day of the apocalypse
By Dan Selcke
Dark is the first German-language original series on Netflix, and has been developing a faithful fan following over its last two seasons. The third and final season drops on June 27, which fans of the show is the day the apocalypse is supposed to go down. So binge it fast. Watch the trailer below:
Dark starts when children start to go missing in the fictional town of Winden, Germany. To make a long story short, the event exposes connections and tensions between four families in the town. The story will ultimately span several generations, with characters being yanked forward and backwards in time to get the full scoop. It’s a grim, twisty, timey-wimey delight, and it’s finally coming to an end.
And as you can see by the trailer, it’s not gonna be pretty. That is a lot of fire and arcs of electricity and ominous pronouncements. “The knot can only be undone by destroying it entirely.” What does that mean? “You’ll understand it all when it’s time to understand.” Wait, what does that mean?
The series has gotten a lot of critical acclaim over the past couple of years, so if you haven’t sampled it yet, now may be a perfect time. If you’re still in quarantine, you could do a lot worse.
