2. Lost

In a lot of ways, the ABC smash hit Lost was one of the first “phenomenon” shows of the 21st century, and went a long way toward paving the road for all the other great ensemble shows we all know and love. So if the idea of a show packed with flashbacks and lots of different characters, each with their own deeply developed backstories, intrigues you, this might be the show for you.

Lost follows the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 as they discover that the island they’ve crash-landed on is filled with far more secrets than any one show can contain. There are polar bears, smoke monsters, Others (no, not the Night King kind), and all sorts of other mysteries. But at the core of the show is a very human drama about a group of castaways trying to learn to live together in the face of a life-upending tragedy, which makes it a perfect fit for times like these.

While many people still have gripes about Lost’s controversial last season, it’s still some pretty gripping viewing. Whether you go through it for the first time for all the twists and turns or rewatch for the nostalgia, this is a show best consumed in as binge-tastic a fashion as possible.

All six seasons of Lost can be streamed on Hulu.
