Stargirl explores the Justice Society of America and the young woman who will continue its legacy. Is it a worthy addition to the Arrowverse?
Every time the Arrowverse family grows, there’s a slight danger of the new show not fitting in with the rest, or not standing out on its own. It’s a conundrum that we’ve faced time and time again, but I’m happy to report that such is not the case with the latest addition, Stargirl.
Stargirl is another Arrowverse show about a character finding their purpose in life, but it has a unique vibe all its own. I think this mainly is due to the fact that the lead character is a young teen in high school, someone a lot of people can relate to. She’s your everyday average girl who stumbles into this excited yet complicated world of heroes, villains, and the Justice Society of America. I’m already looking forward to the day when she crosses over with the rest of the Arrowverse folks.
Without hesitation, I can say that I see this series lasting on The CW for quite a while. The lead character’s reliability, spunky go-getter attitude, and empathy is something that resonates with me. I believe that is what makes Stargirl successful right off the bat.
We’ll be reviewing Stargirl episode by episode throughout its first season. Without further ado, let’s get to it, and please remember: there are SPOILERS ahead.
