Big Finish has recently revealed some brand new details of what we can expect from the upcoming Torchwood spin-off Soho – including a brand new cover for the box set!

In just a couple of months, we can look forward to the start of a brand new series from Big Finish Productions. Torchwood: Soho will star Tom Price and Samuel Barnett as Sergeant Andy Davidson and Norton Folgate.

If you’re a fan of the series, then most of you will know of the ever likable Sergeant Andy, who recently met the Eighth Doctor in Doctor Who: Stranded. But if you’re not as familiar with the audios, then you’re probably unaware of who Norton is. To sum up: Norton Folgate worked for the secret organization in the 1950s. Not only is he incredibly camp with an extremely cheerful attitude. But he’s also one of the most devious and dangerous agents that Torchwood’s ever had.

Norton has met Sergeant Andy several times now, mostly through time travel. In the audio Goodbye Picadilly, we got to find out more about Norton’s world of 1950s Soho. Naturally, this was such a rich and intriguing world that Big Finish decided it was worth exploring further, in the new spin-off box set Torchwood: Soho – Parasite.

More from Winter is Coming

Soho: Parasite

The box set will comprise of six episodes, all written by James Goss. Goss has been producing Big Finish’s range of Torchwood audios from the beginning, and he’s given us so many great stories along the way, so we can expect great things from Soho. Here’s the official description for the series.

"Enter the world of 1950s Torchwood!Gangsters are vanishing from the streets of Soho, there’s a deadly Nazi secret on the loose, and something’s moving in the smog. Norton Folgate should be sorting this out, but the Torchwood agent is in disgrace. Who’s going to save London this time?"

James Goss gives us a good idea of what we can expect from this new spin-off, particularly in terms of style.

"As it’s set in the 1950s, it was obvious to follow the rhythm of the Quatermass serials – so there are six half-hour episodes. And, in the tradition of Quatermass, we start out in an office and end with the world in peril."

Torchwood meets Quatermass. That sounds like quite an exciting mix. We can’t wait to listen to this new series when it’s released on CD and download in Aug 2020, directly from Big Finish.

dark. Next. Was Torchwood the reason why Jack didn’t meet Twelve?
