The Last Kingdom stars get married, land new gigs, climb rocks
By Corey Smith
Netflix recently renewed The Last Kingdom for a fifth season, and as we gear up for filming, its stars aren’t siting idle.
First up, Eysteinn Sigurdarson (Sigtryggr), our choice for best newcomer, married fellow actress Salóme Gunnarsdóttir. Sigurdarson and Gunnarsdóttir shared the good news via Instagram, and it looks like they had some quarantined guests:
If we could pass on any marriage advice, always remember to never laugh at your wife’s choices, you are one of them.
Fellow cast members like Ruby Hartley (Stiorra) attended. Virtually, of course.
We wish the happy couple nothing but the best!
Speaking of Hartley, the actress hit the beach for some well-needed relaxation:
In other happy news, the cast members are landing new gigs left and right, even with the coronavirus pandemic still raging on. First up, Eva Birthhistle, aka the Lady Hild, made her directorial debut at the Galway Film Fest, where her short film Kathleen Was Here was screened this past week for virtual attendees:
Meanwhile, unofficial set photographer James Northcote (Aldhelm) also has a short film coming: A Long Way Home. Check out the trailer below.
Looks intense.
Mark Rowley (Finan) continues to share free acting classes to benefit Britain’s National Health Service. This go round, the class is led by Jack Lowden (Dunkirk).
Keep up the good work, Mark.
Elsewhere, Magnus Bruun (Cnut) might have met his end on The Last Kingdom, but he continues his viking ways as the voice of Eivor in the next installment of the Assassin’s Creed video game franchise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
He is really jazzed for this game:
On the Saxon side of things, Joseph Millson (Aelfric) shreds a bit in his free time.
Pretty impressive for a dead man.
Millson’s onscreen son Ossian Perret (Wihtgar) is also living the outdoor life and climbing some rocks:
That’s all for now, but stay tuned for more interviews with the cast and crew. Destiny is all!
