The directors of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame are down to make a Secret Wars series in the MCU. What would that look like? Have a gander:
Artist BossLogic is a beast. His work often revolves around creating posters and concepts for things that haven’t happened and may never happen, but it’s always a treat for the eyes. He loves to put his twists on movies and characters, and bring life to ideas that have cross all of our minds.
His latest series revolves around a Marvel Comics mini-series by the name of Secret Wars. Now, I personally don’t know much about it, but what I do know is that the Russo Brothers — the directors behind Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame — have expressed an interest in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to direct it. And that’s more than enough reason to be interested in it.
So what exactly is Secret Wars? It’s a crossover series from the 1980s. I know whenever I see the word crossover, my mind starts doing somersaults because I love when characters from all over the MCU come together.
In Secret Wars, Marvel heroes and villains are transported to a place called Battlworld by a villain named the Beyonder. The Beyonder makes all the characters fight against one another so he can study them, and for fun. Whoever is left standing at the end. This forces the heroes and villains into alliances they wouldn’t otherwise make.
Um, this sounds freaking AWESOME! I can see why the Russos are game to make it. I would watch this.
But while that’s still a distant dream, BossLogic is at least showing us what the posters might look like. This first image depicts the Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom, who apparently takes Beyonder’s powers at some point:
Here we have the Silver Surfer facing down the Living Tribunal, basically the judge of all realities in the Marvel Universe. Dang, that sounds like a pretty cool job.
This next poster imagines a moment that didn’t actually happen in Secret Wars but would be very cool: what if Magneto tried to control Thor’s hammer?
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man wearing the black-and-white Symbiote suit?!
Uff, just stop it already, this is too cool!
Thank you BossLogic for giving the Marvel nerds of the world a preview of our hopeful future.
