Lottery winner picks up $95 million check in Darth Vader cosplay
By Ariba Bhuvad
The Force is strong with Jamaica resident W. Brown, who just won a whopping $95 million (Jamaican dollars, that is, which amounts to about $650,000 US dollars) in the lottery.
But here’s the real kicker: when going to pick up his prize, Brown decided to appear in Darth Vader cosplay. Yes, “Luke, I am your father” Darth Vader.
Whether he did it for the laughs or because masks are a part of our daily wardrobe now, I am so here for him and his life choices. “I wrote down the numbers and saw that I won!” Brown told The Gleaner. “I was excited and said mi finally hol’ him now! I then had a shower and went to sleep.”
I mean, what else would you do after getting such amazing news?
With the amount of money Brown has won, he could literally buy all the Darth Vader/Star Wars memorabilia the world has to offer. Well, maybe not all, but you know what I mean.
As it turns out, this isn’t the first time a lottery winner in Jamaica has showed up in cosplay to retrieve their prize. Last year, someone showed up wearing the Scream mask. I have to admit, I’m loving the creativity here.
Congratulations to W. Brown for simultaneously winning the lottery and putting a smile on all of our faces during these difficult times!
