George R.R. Martin models terrifying face mask
By Dan Selcke
I can’t decide if George R.R. Martin looks horrifying or awesome is his new colorful face mask. You be the judge.
Okay, this is going to be a very simple post. The coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep across the world, and is hitting the United States particularly hard. A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin, the creator of Game of Thrones, wrote a blog post urging people to take the pandemic seriously and to wear face masks so they can help prevent transmission of the disease, which is nice. Good for him.
But really, I just wanted to excuse to show you the picture of himself in a mask he posted:
Now that is a mask that makes a statement. What statement is it making, exactly? I’m not sure, but I do know that I want at least five of my own…or I never want to look at this image again, it’s hard to decide. It’s kind of a Day of the Dead sort of thing? Whatever. It’s colorful and Martin looks bizarre in it.
In any case, it’s good to see Martin doing what he can to encourage the wearing of face masks. It looks like we’re all in this for a while, so we might as well at least get fun ones.
