What happened this week in the world of pop culture, movies and TV? Stuff happened. We here at Take the Black Live are here to tell you about it, this time with special guest WiC writer Amanda Mullen!

Amanda is here specifically as an expert on all things related to Avatar: The Last Airbender, a pioneering Nickelodeon series that is getting its own live-action remake on Netflix!

Only just this week, the creators of the animated original announced they were no longer working on the remake thanks to Netflix meddling with their vision, so sadly we have to start with that unfortunate news (2:08). After we tackle that topic from every angle, we briefly discuss the new A Song of Ice and Fire calendar (16:36) before finally treating you to an review of Lovecraft Country (19:36), a new horror show debuting on HBO this Sunday!
