The Walking Dead star Lindsley Register (Laura) shares details of a sex scene that was planned between her character and Eugene (Josh McDermitt).

The Walking Dead star Lindsley Register (Laura) has revealed the details of a sex scene that was planned between her character and Eugene (Josh McDermitt). This scene was ultimately cut, with Register saying the writers thought it proved “too much of a distraction.”

The scene would have happened back in the season 8 episode “Time for After,” when Eugene was forced to work for Negan in the Sanctuary while Laura served as one of Negan’s most trusted officers. “I get this very cryptic, vague email from my agent like, ‘What are your limits with sexual content?'” Register remembered while appearing on the Talk Dead To Me podcast. “I was like, ‘For?’ She says, ‘The Walking Dead.’ What are we doing?! [Laughs] What is Laura doing?”

If you’ve ever wondered what a sex scene with Eugene would be like, Register can finally put you at ease:

"They were like, ‘There’s definitely nothing going on between you two.’ They were reiterating this to me, ‘There’s no amount of care in this. It’s just sex.’ So we go and we film it, it was really funny. If I remember right, I kiss him and he’s like, ‘You taste like stone fruit and applesauce.’ [Laughs] I’m getting dressed and he’s got the sheet pulled up around him, it’s so cute."

This scene would have happened during the All Out War storyline on The Walking Dead, which apparently is why it was nixed. “It would have been too much of a subplot distraction from what was going on,” Register remembered. “So maybe from a story perspective, it just didn’t work.”

In other Walking Dead news, did you know that the zombies on the front of each of the 32 trade paperback volumes actually link to create one huge chain? The Easter Egg, pointed out by a fan on Twitter, was confirmed by creator Robert Kirkman himself, who was surprised someone was finally able to find it:
