The original Walking Dead series may be over, but there’s a plenty of zombie action coming to satisfy fans. That includes the new show World Beyond.

Set to debut immediately after the season 10 finale of The Walking Dead on October 4, spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond tells the story of the first generation of kids to come of age during the zombie apocalypse. The show has a brand spanking new trailer that showcases the action-packed world our teenage heroes find themselves in. Check it out below:

“Two sisters along with two friends leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest,” reads the official synopsis. “Pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them, a tale of growing up and transformation unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves and each other.”

The “important quest” seems to involve rescuing the father of the aforementioned sisters, who somehow found himself on the other side of the country. That’s a long way to go through zombie territory.

If the promise of teenagers dropping bowling balls on the heads of unsuspecting zombies isn’t enough to put a third Walking Dead show on your schedule, World Beyond may also shed light on the whereabouts of original series protagonist Rick Grimes. Rick was last seen being airlifted away by a mysterious helicopter bearing the same three-ring symbol as the one we see in the trailer above. How much about Rick’s fate we’ll learn in World Beyond remains to be seen, but it certainly have our attention.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond includes actors Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Julia Ormond,  Aliyah Royale and Annet Mahendru. It will only last for two seasons. Hopefully this and the other newly announced spinoffs will take the sting over the news that the original show is ending:

Next. The Walking Dead is actually ending with season 11. dark
