9. “100 Clues,” S07E05 / “Dual Spires,” S05E129

I can’t tell you how many times I went back and forth deciding which of these episodes should be in this spot. Then I realized that I was an adult and I could put them both in the spot and so I did.

These are both equally amazing tribute episodes to two amazing cult favorites, with appearances from the original actors. I mean, how can you even think of picking one over the other? I can’t pit Clue against Twin Peaks, so I won’t.

“100 Clues” was the show’s 100th episode. In celebration, they brought on several actors from the original film (sans Madeline Kahn, who had passed, and Tim Curry, who appeared in the season 2 premiere, “American Duos”). Martin Mull, Leslie Ann Warren and Christopher Lloyd join this episode alongside Curt Smith, Garrett Morris and Steve Valentine. Beloved moments from Clue are remade in Psych fashion, and the coolest part was that when this episode aired live, the audience got to choose who the killer was. Viewers would text in who they wanted and that was the ending they saw It also included some amazing Clue tribute scenes.

“Dual Spires” is one of my personal favorite episodes of Psych…EVER. I have seen this an ungodly number of times. If you’re a fan of Twin Peaks, this brings back several cast members along with the hilarious melodrama that make the show what it was. Twin Peaks OGs that make an appearance are Dana Ashbrook, Robyn Lively, Catherine E. Coulson, Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Lenny von Dohlen and Ray Wise. It was a proper reunion.

Shawn and Gus find themselves in Dual Spires after getting a mysterious email about a cinnamon festival, but this town is barely a blip on a map. When a teen named Paula is found dead on a beach, it’s up to Shawn and Gus to find out who killed her.
