Rahul Kohl to play Jedi Ezra Bridger in The Mandalorian season 2?

The second season of The Mandalorian has plans to bring in a lot of Star Wars legacy characters. What’s one more?

The Mandalorian’s second season is coming out on October 30, and Star Wars fans should expect to see some familiar faces. Temuera Morrison is playing Boba FettBattlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff will play Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan, there are heavy rumors that Rosario Dawson will show up as Ahsoka Tano, and it looks like Mandalorian Sabine Wren may show up as well.

With all that buzz, Star Wars fans would be forgiven for raising an eyebrow when iZombie star Rahul Kohl hinted he may turn up as yet another familiar character:

This tweet is a direct reference to Jedi Ezra Bridger, a central character on the animated series Star Wars Rebels. Bridger is not only from Lothal, but is also trained by fellow Jedi Kanan Jarrus. What’s more, at the end of Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren go off in search of Ezra, who vanishes into the depths of space at the end of the show. And if they’re going to be in The Mandalorian season 2, then it follows that Ezra may be, too.

However, when fans started to follow that train of thought, Kohli quickly backed it up:

So what do we think? Was Kohli truly just fooling around, or did he reveal too much and then cover after his publicist yelled at him? He does kind of look like Bridger, although he’s quite a bit older. Then again, who knows what kind of timey-wimey shenanigans Ezra could have gotten up to out there in the depths of space?

More likely, I expect Ahsoka and Sabine to show up in The Mandalorian season 2 on the hunt for Ezra, and maybe for him to turn up in an eventual Ahsoka series, which is just one of several Star Wars Disney+ shows rumored to be in development:
