3. Daemon and Aemond Targaryen aerial battle

Dragons are awesome. It’s as simple as that. The dragons on Game of Thrones were beautiful, terrifying, and lovable all at the same time. And if you liked the dragons on that show, then you’re in for a treat with House of the Dragon.

On Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen had the only three dragons in the world. During the dance of the Dragons, everybody has one. In all, there are 22 dragons in this story, all of different sizes, shapes, colors and personalities. I can’t wait to see their designs and watch them fly around burning stuff.

For all of the epic battles we’ll see involving these ferocious beasts, the one I’m looking forward to the most is between Daemon and Aemond Targaryen. Their fight comes at a pivotal point in the war. Aemond, Aegon’s brother fighting for the Greens, has been flying around the Riverlands for months wreaking havoc on castles and lords that did not declare for his brother. His uncle Daemon flies to meet him at Harrenhall, and their battle in the sky involves the two oldest, largest, and most ferocious dragons in the war: Vhagar, whom we mentioned on the last slide, and  Caraxes the Blood Wyrm.

Daemon Targaryen may be one of the most interesting characters in the history of Westeros. He’s ruthless, evil and righteous all at once. His relationship with his brother is very complex, he marries his niece, he commands the most terrifying dragon alive, and his ambitions are sky-high. I can’t wait to see this bloodthirsty, sex-obsessed, treacherous monster brought to life. His battle with Aemond is the ultimate climax to his life and his character. They clash with swords and fire high amid the clouds in a legendary fight to the death that claims both of their lives. It will be really exciting to watch dragons do battle as we didn’t get much of that in Game of Thrones.
