A Crown of Swords: “Mashiara”

"Burn you, Lan Mandragoran! Burn you! Burn you! Burn you to the Pit of Doom! Burn you! .. We will talk this over calmly and rationally, as adults."

In this chapter, Nyneave travels by boat to meet one of the Windfinders. Out of the blue, she feels a flash of saidarl: balefire. Suddenly, her ship is sinking and she gets trapped in the cabin. She tries to make herself angry so she can channel, but she’s too afraid.

Finally, as she is about to lose consciousness, she surrenders to saidar completely and, for the first time, is able to channel without being angry. She tries to swim to the surface, but she’s run out of time. Her life flowing away, she is grabbed from the water and pulled onto the deck of another ship. Nyneave turns to see Lan, who has finally found her after traveling a long way.

It’s a touching reunion, and Nynaeve hits him before they go off to get married.

Nyneave’s character drastically needed this character development. She really improves after getting rid of her block and rekindling her romance with Lan. There are other moments in this book that have more action, but none move the characters forward like this.
