3. Episode 102, “Run Boy Run”: Five teleports into the future, and finds he can’t go back

Early in season 1, Five refuses to listen to his “father” Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who advises him not to try out his time-traveling abilities too quickly since he doesn’t have control over them yet. But does Five listen? Nope. Believing he’s more than ready, Five decides to do the exact opposite and it’s one hell of a trip.

Gallagher brings a lot of defiance to Five, who is tired of his father’s controlling nature. As he jumps through time, Gallagher’s face brightens with joy and excitement. Unfortunately, the excitement comes to a screeching halt when Five finds himself years into the future, now stuck in an apocalyptic wasteland.

Gallagher takes Five from defiant to excited to elated to confused to devastated as he realizes that his family is dead and gone and that he that he has no way to help them. And his horrible father was right. It’s a very bad day for Five, and Gallagher makes us feel all of it.
