Maggie confronts Negan in table read of new Walking Dead episode
By Ashley Hurst
We’re getting a bunch of bonus episodes of The Walking Dead! And based on the table read, things are going to get tense between Maggie and Negan.
If there’s one thing fans of The Walking Dead are looking forward to in the mysterious six extra episode of season 10 coming early next year, it’s Maggie (Lauren Cohan) confronting Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Every fan has a different idea of how exactly it will go down, but now, a virtual table read of one of these upcoming episode, “Home Sweet Home,” gives us some hints. It looks very tense!
There are actually a lot of interesting tidbits in this short table read. For one thing, the episode is set after the season 10 finale, whereas a lot of fans assumed these episodes would be set in the past and show us what Maggie was up to during her time away from the show. Maybe other episodes will, but not this one.
Obviously, the Maggie-Negan confrontation is the big thing going on here. In season 9, Maggie was close to killing Negan before she ultimately decided it was best to let him suffer in a cell. She still feels punishment is needed for him murdering Glenn, not to mention all of the other despicable things he’s done. But now she’s back after leaving to travel with Georgie, and Negan is out of his cell and member of the community. Things might get quite complicated.
So how does the Maggie-Negan confrontation play out? Watch the table read below and see for yourself. It’s really tense even when they’re not in costume and relaxing in their homes! I can’t wait to see how it plays out on the show.
"Negan: “I didn’t escape if that’s what you’re thinking.”Carol: “There’s one other thing you should know. Negan was with the Whisperers that night. We were going to lose everything. Negan is the reason we didn’t.Maggie: “The truth is, I left home because I didn’t want Negan taking up any more space in my head and I realized I wasn’t ready to bring Hershel back to that. And the next morning we found Elijah and a whole community that needed us as much as we needed them. And it felt like it was meant to be.”"
“Elijah” could be the name of Maggie’s badass sidekick, the guy in the iron mask introduced in the season 10 finale.

This all but eliminates the possibility of the character being someone from the past. We’ve never met a character named Elijah in The Walking Dead before. And now we know he comes from a large community. I’m wondering if it’s an entirely new place or somewhere we’re already aware of.
The six additional season 10 episodes are set to air at AMC in early 2021. For now, we’ve got Fear The Walking Dead season 6 and the debut season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond to enjoy!
