Will The Mandaorian bridge the gap between the original Star Wars trilogy and the sequels? How many special guest stars will we see? What of the Darksaber?

The second season of The Mandalorian is almost here! On October 30, fans will get to see the continuing adventures of Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his newly adopted son the Child, better known as Baby Yoda. The last we saw of Mando and co., they had just outrun a small Imperial army led by the intimidating Moff Gideon, and Mando was tasked with finding Baby Yoda’s people.

We cannot wait to see what’s in store for the next leg of the journey. Hopefully, we’ll see Mando visit new planets, encounter new villains and allies, and use new gadgets and weapons. Of course, we’re also looking forward to catching up with old friends, finding out what the deal is with Moff Gideon, and definitely more Baby Yoda.

We’re also eager to see how Star Wars legacy characters like Ashoka Tano, Bo-Katan Kryze and even Boba Fett work into this season. Word is we’ll see quite a few familiar faces this year.

The first season of The Mandalorian had a lot of charm and mystery, and we’re hoping the second season will bring that same energy. So, without further ado, here are five things we want to see in The Mandalorian season 2!

Father-Son Bonding

One of the most touching aspects of the show’s first year was watching the laconic bounty hunter care for and protect the somewhat helpless Baby Yoda. Their unique relationship showed that Mando was more than a cold-hearted killer; he was even willing to break the Guild’s code and sacrifice his reputation to save the Child.

The Child cares for the Mandalorian too, as he tried to heal the bounty hunter’s wounds in Chapter 2, and watched with sadness as his surrogate father rode into Nevarro without him in Chapter 7. We need more moments like this next season.

It’ll be interesting to see how their relationship develops this time around, but we want to see them become closer as father and son. Mando could teach the child how the galaxy works, and maybe Baby Yoda will help him discover things about himself. We could see the bounty hunter’s rough exterior start to crack even more as their bond strengthens.

This relationship is already the central emotional core of the show. In the season 2 trailer, we hear Mando say, “Wherever I go, he goes.” While it’ll be fun to get more of those action-packed moments, we’re hoping for more personal moments as well.
