From new species to surprise guest appearances to Jabba the Hutt-speak, the new episode of The Mandalorian is full of Star Wars Easter eggs and references!

Another week, another new episode of The Mandalorian! In “Chapter 10: The Passenger,” Din Djarin and the Child attempt to help Frog Lady reunite with her husband and protect her eggs in exchange for information about other Mandalorians.

While this episode is shorter than last week’s, it still manages to pack in plenty of suspense, action, humor, heart, and of course, Easter eggs for the observant Star Wars fan. From new species to more surprise guest appearances, “The Passenger” was full of surprises!

Here are five things you may have missed during this week’s episode!

Dr. Mandible and The Killik

At the beginning of the episode, Peli (Amy Sedaris) is playing Sabacc in the Mos Eisley Cantina with a giant ant-like creature named Dr. Mandible. Similar looking creatures known as the Killik exist in the Star Wars mythos, but they’ve never appeared on-screen…until now.

The species was first introduced in the 2005 novel Dark Nest I: The Joiner King, written by Troy Denning. They are described as sentient insectoid species native to Alderaan. The Killik has made several appearances across different books and video games.

Dark Nest I: The Joiner King is no longer canon to Disney Star Wars, so there could be a new backstory to this species that we don’t know yet. We would love for the show to delve deeper into its origins.

We would especially like to see more of this Dr. Mandible character, as he has one of the goofiest names in recent Star Wars memory. It’s reminiscent of the classic weirdness that George Lucas would inject into this universe. More of this, please!
