After some COVID-related setbacks, The CW’s Superman and Lois is gearing up for its series premiere. Check out Tyler Hoechlin in the new Superman suit!

Superman and Lois, the new Arrowverse show all about the Man of Steel, has encountered some unexpected turbulence ahead of its freshmen season thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused production delays. But with two months to go until the series premiere now, things are coming together.

To wit: we have a new still of Tyler Hoechlin sporting the new Superman suit — and he looks great!

The Arrowverse has long given its superheroes updated suits; consider it a rite of passage.

Superman and Lois will give a new take on the Man of Steel’s story as we will see him and Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch) raise their two boys (Jordan Elsass and Alex Garfin). They’re teenagers, so Clark Kent will have his work cut out for him balancing superheroics with dad duties.

Back in September, during the DC FanDomeSuperman and Lois’ showrunner and executive producer Todd Helbing talked about the new suit and the family dynamic of the series

"[This show] gave us a fresh slate: ‘Yeah, let’s make a new suit.’ There’s gonna be a really badass Superman suit in this show that I’m pretty excited about. As a father who happens to have two boys, that felt like a really great way to bring in some personal experience to tell a story that is as grounded as you can possibly be to have Superman in it. And as a couple, we really get to lean into Clark and Lois not being Superman and the most famous journalist in the world, but really as parents. What is that like when you have jobs like that? Which a lot of people can relate to nowadays."

I can already imagine Clark in the middle of grounding his sons when he gets an urgent call to save the world or something. Yup, this is going to be amazing!

Tune in for the series premiere of Superman and Lois on Tuesday, February 23 on the CW!
