Five things we want to see in The Expanse season 5

Amos’ past

Much like Naomi, Amos’ past has been a big question mark. We knew he grew up on Earth and had a difficult childhood, but he rarely talked about it. This season he’s traveling back to his home city of Baltimore. In the trailer, we see him interacting with characters from his past, which means we’ll be learning a lot more about it.

We’ve gotten some hints about his past before that help explain how he became such a psychotic force of nature. In season 3, interviewer Monica Stuart does a background check on Amos and mentions a crime lord with the same name. That line sure piqued my interest, and I’m eager to see if the fifth season follows up on it.

I’m also excited to meet Amos’ family, whether biological or surrogate. With Naomi focusing on her family this season, it’d be great to get some mirroring on Amos’ side of things.

Or maybe asking for that is a huge mistake. After all, we’re dealing with Amos, and if we get more people who act like Amos, we’re asking for a whole lot of trouble.
