Check out the cover of the 2022 A Song of Ice and Fire calendar, which showcases Daenerys Targaryen and Drogon in all their glory.
Every year, Penguin Random House releases a new calendar featuring illustrations from A Song of Ice and Fire, and every year, they’re so beautiful it’s all I can do not to pretend January lasts three months so I keep staring at the first image in the set.
For 2021, Penguin tapped artist Sam Hogg. Now, one of George R.R. Martin’s minions has revealed on his blog the cover of the 2022 calendar, which is illustrated by fantasy artist Arantza Sestayo. Check it out:
Daenerys Targaryen in all her glory, ladies and gentlemen. And I’m guessing that’s ‘lil Drogon on her lap? Feels like a March image, I don’t know why. Makes me wonder what other surprises Sestayo has dreamed up for the calendar.
Arantza Sestayo is a Spanish artist with a lot of great work to her name. You can check out more of it here. As for the 2022 A Song of Ice and Fire calendar, you can pre-order it here. Or if you can go with the 2021 calendar, 2022 still being quite a ways off.
