Kat Dennings’ Thor character is in WandaVision, but doubts she’ll be in Love and Thunder

The Marvel Universe is so vast that cameos come fast and quick. Consider WandaVision. There are lots of cameos and guest appearances in the new Disney+ series. Kat Dennings, whose character Darcy first appeared in 2011’s Thor, is back for WandaVision, part of a team trying to figure out what in the world Wanda is doing to Westview. It’s a joy to see her again, but Dennings doesn’t think Darcy will appear in the upcoming fourth Thor film, Love and Thunder.

Dennings talked with IGN about Darcy’s future, noting that she hasn’t heard anything about it. “Well, I have not gotten a call so I kind of doubt it since they’re shooting [Thor 4] right now so probably not,” she said. (It’s true, they are.)

That said, if a call came through today, Dennings would be on a plane as soon as possible. “Anything Marvel ever asks of me the answer’s always yes.”

So does that mean fans could see Darcy elsewhere in the MCU? From the look of things, it looks like a distinct possibility.

Will Kat Dennings’ Darcy be in Thor: Love and Thunder?

Naturally, Dennings and other MCU actors know the drill about revealing secrets. Mum’s the word, so there’s always the possibility that Darcy could turn up in Thor 4 anyway. Now that Darcy is a full-fledged astrophysicist working with S.W.O.R.D., it seems like her services could be called upon just about anywhere in the MCU.

It’s the same with Darcy’s onscreen friend and mentor Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard), who has appeared in two Thor movies and two Avengers movies to date. Darcy and Erik’s ties to both Thor and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman, who is slated to take Thor’s place in Love and Thunder) makes you think they’ll turn back sooner or later.

For all anyone knows, Dennings’ scenes for Thor 4 have already been filmed. Marvel is tricky that way.
