Hard as it is to believe, The Walking Dead is actually, but before we get to season 11, season 10 has a bit left in the tank.
The tenth season of The Walking Dead wrapped up last year…but AMC isn’t done. The pandemic screwed up everyone’s schedule, so while we wait for the eleventh and final season of the show, it’s giving us six additional episodes that will focus on specific characters and storylines, although the plot will move forward a bit too.
Check out the new teaser below for a taste of what’s to come:
Probably the headlining episode is “Here’s Negan,” which will dive into the past of the murderous villain-turned-antihero. We’ll even meet Negan’s wife Lucille, for whom he named his famous bat:
Lucille, incidentally, is played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s real-life wife Hillarie Burton Morgan. How’s that for a smart way to film in COVID conditions without the risk of spreading the disease to someone outside your home?
Whatever Negan was like back before the zombie apocalypse, he’s made quite a few enemies since. Clearly Maggie, who’s back with the group complete with a strange new masked friend, has reason to mistrust him.
Maybe Carol can sympathize a bit — she’s been to some dark places over the years:
Speaking of Carol, she and Daryl will be at the center of two of the new episodes.
Finally, the episode “Splinter” will pick up where we left Yumiko, Princes, Eugene and Ezekiel in the season 10 finale.
We’ll get more information on the new group they met, which will surely be important as the show enters its endgame.
The new episodes start airing on Sunday, February 28.
