WandaVision blew our minds when Evan Peters, who played Quicksilver in Fox’s X-Men movies, turned up in the MCU. And there could be more of that coming.

As if WandaVision couldn’t make viewers gasp any louder, Paul Bettany (Vision) says that the rest of the first season still has some surprises left in store.

“There is one character that has not been revealed,” Bettany recently told Esquire. “And it is very exciting. It is an actor I’ve longed to work with all of my life. We have some amazing scenes together and I think the chemistry between us is extraordinary, and fireworks on set.” Color me intrigued!

Battany’s statement is predictably vague, but we can discern a few things from his comments. Bettany mentions that this guest star is someone he’s always wanted to work with, so I think it’s safe to say that they haven’t appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before. A lot of folks on Tumblr are guessing that the actor in question will be Ian McKellen, who played the villain Magneto in Fox’s series’ of X-Men movies. As we saw with the introduction of Evan Peters’ Pietro Maximoff — the first mind-blowing cameo of the series — the door is open for Disney to bring characters from the Fox movies into the MCU, and since Magneto has a complicated relationship with Wanda Maximoff in the comics, he could be the next one make the jump.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens! Every episode of WandaVision has been great so far, furthering the story just a little bit at a time to keep viewers on their toes. I’m excited to see who Paul Bettany is referencing.
