11 Harry Potter spin-off series we want to see (or not)
10. Madam Minister
Hermione never wanted to become the Minister of Magic. All she wanted to do was to bring some justice to the world. She wanted to be an activist, not a politician. But in this limited series, we’ll watch her go from an ordinary citizen raising funds for the protection of house elves to finding herself in the race for the highest magical office in the land.
Think Netflix’s The Politician, but the opposite, because Hermione would suffer from imposter syndrome and would not have willingly thrown her name into the political arena. I wouldn’t put it past Harry, now a senior officer in the Department of Law Enforcement, to have secretly started her campaign. Everyone knows she’s got what it takes, but Hermione will always argue against it. Picture her being openly opposed to the idea at first, then merely reluctant, until something clicks and her accepts.
The show would end on a triumphant note with her inauguration as Minister for Magic. She would give an inspirational speech about unity and equity that we would remember for the rest of our days and will inspire generations to come.
Now, picture Emma Watson (who, by the way, did not retire from acting) playing an older Hermione. If she ever agreed to this, it would be perfect. Even if she didn’t, and another actress took her place, the story would be so powerful that it couldn’t flop.
