8. The Prime of Minerva McGonagall

Professor McGonagall is one of the most beloved characters in the series, so much so that She Who Must Not Be Named wrote an entire backstory a few years ago on Pottermore. Who wouldn’t watch a show about the Head of Gryffindor House? Even people who aren’t massive Potterheads admit that they would love to see her younger years, what shaped her and why she chose to go into teaching.

We know that Minerva McGonagall is the daughter of a Muggle father and a witch mother. We know she was a Prefect and then Head Girl and that she played Quidditch, but that she had to stop because she was injured in a match against Slytherin.

Wouldn’t it be great to see her become an Animagus? We know she suffered a teenage heartbreak when she refused a marriage proposal from the Muggle boy she was in love with. We know that she worked at the Ministry of Magic. We know that she eventually decided to dedicate her life to others, by teaching and shaping entire generations of witches and wizards. Wouldn’t you like to see some of that onscreen? I know I would.
