25 greatest duos in Game of Thrones history
24. Sansa Stark and Littlefinger
What happened to the duo: This wasn’t a healthy pairing, but it was good for character growth. In the end, Sansa got what she needed from Littlefinger. After getting Winterfell back, she, Bran, and Arya worked behind Littlefinger’s back so they could air his dirty laundry in open court. It worked, and Sansa had Littlefinger execute Littlefinger for his many crimes, including betraying their father. And no part of her felt bad about it.
Why they were so great: Littlefinger was not someone you could trust. Sansa was forced to for a while, but any lingering illusions were dispelled when Littlefinger convinced her to marry the sadistic Ramsey Bolton.
After managing to escape Winterfell for the Wall, Sansa wanted to make sure she and Jon got their ancestral home back. However, she would need help with that. When she wrote to Littlefinger for support, he delivered it—and just in the nick of time.
Sansa played Littlefinger at his own game, though. Between what she learned from Cersei in King’s Landing and from Littlefinger, she was able to make tough decisions to protect herself and the people she cared about. It wouldn’t have been possible without Sansa and Littlefinger teaming up.
This duo was only great because of the character growth it allowed Sansa.
