3. Daenerys Targaryen and Jorah Mormont

What happened to the duo: Like so many other duos on Game of Thrones, this one wasn’t meant to last. And we’re not just talking about the blip in the middle of the show.

Jorah made it his mission to protect Dany, and that’s just what he did during the Battle of Winterfell. He sacrificed his life for her. His death was the start in Dany’s downfall into madness.

Why they were so great: Things didn’t start out great for these two, as Jorah was spying on Dany for Varys. Eventually, he realized that she was someone to follow, but Dany was hurt by the truth of what he did.

Jorah wouldn’t give up, though. He even faced death to get back to her and make up for everything he did. That loyalty eventually helped Dany warm up to him again.

In the end, the two were a strong pair. Jorah idolized Dany and she respected him and took his advice seriously. We knew that Dany really did care for him when Jorah sacrificed his life for her, and she mourned over his body.
