The Power Broker’s real identity, a possible cameo from Chris Evans…What are we hoping to see in the series finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier?

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been a fun ride on Disney+ these past few weeks, but sadly, we will have to say goodbye (at least for now) when the finale drops this Friday, April 23.

So what can we expect from the episode? Zemo’s storyline had a fitting conclusion last week, so we don’t think we’ll see much of him. The finale does need to wrap up the storylines involving the Flag Smashers, Sharon Carter, John Walker, and of course, Sam and Bucky’s personal journeys.

There are also some loose ends to tie up. What’s the deal with the Power Broker? Who is Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and how does she know so much? Why is she interested in John Walker? Where exactly is Steve Rogers?

Here are five of our top predictions for what will happen in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series finale.

Sam Wilson will finally become Captain America

Ever since Steve handed down his shield to Sam at the end of Avengers: Endgame, fans have wanted to see Sam as the new Captain America. While The Falcon and the Winter Soldier took its time getting him to this point, it looks like he will finally take up the mantle in the final episode.

Sam has been through an incredible journey throughout the series. He initially rejected the shield, then witnessed it fall into the wrong hands, then learned the dark history of the super-soldier serum before finally preparing himself to take up the mantle, or at least that’s the impression we got from his training montage in “Truth.”

Much like Steve Rogers, Sam doesn’t back down from a fight and stands up for others, making him the perfect person to step in as the new Captain America. While watching his journey has been satisfying (and a little frustrating), I’m looking forward to a showdown between him and Walker in the finale. During the mid-credits scene last week, Walker began constructing his own shield, still believing that he’s the real Captain America.

With the Wakandans providing Sam with a new suit or wings, watching these two go toe-to-toe will not only be exciting but a fantastic conclusion to Sam’s arc.
