Dominic Purcell has been playing the role of Heat Wave since the early days of The Flash, and got a chance to truly shine when he became a series regular on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. He’s been an integral part of the show, injecting a lot of comic relief. And now he’s leaving the series after season 6…or at least that’s the impression we got from some puzzling social media posts.

The actor confused fans earlier this week when he wrote an abrupt post on Instagram that seemed to imply that he and Warner Bros. had some beef between them. “Deal isn’t done,” it read. “I have no interest. Whatever cash they throw on the corporate level. I’m walking away from @cw_legendsoftomorrow. It’s been a total pleasure and a humbling experience bringing @dccomics iconic character #heatwave (aka) MICK RORY to life.”

He deleted and reposted that a few times. Reading it, you’d there was some behind-the-scenes drama we’ve unaware of. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me, given that Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford were written off the show despite them wanting to stick around.

But apparently, there is no drama whatsoever, and Purcell seemed to be just be pulling our legs for the heck of it.

Dominic Purcell did not get kicked off DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and he’s not feuding with Warner Bros.

Between all the posting and reposting, it’s hard to keep track of what Purcell was trying to say exactly, but eventually one of his posts cleared things up a little:

"Do I have a beef with the studio at @warnerbrostv? No. Yes, I said they don’t care. That’s not correct of course they do — just me being emotional and over stuff. We all work in a big machine. Sometimes sh** happens. I have and always have had a tremendous relationship with the bosses and the studio @warnerbrostv … My wording was aggressive in tone because sometimes I get frustrated and annoyed. It’s been a long long heavy year locked up in #Vancouver for 9 months without going home. Who doesn’t and who hasn’t lashed out. I’m f—in’ human. So for god sake, chill on. ‘Dominic Purcell and the studio are beefing’ [is] total bullsh** … I’ve never quit on a contract and never would."

So long story short, the guy is just frustrated and wants to go home. And he used social media as a platform to vent. It’s a little weird, but who isn’t guilty of doing the same from time to time?

And since then, Purcell has completely removed those posts and uploaded the one below:

I’m not sure about you, but I am and was so confused about all this, but things have settled down since then. Purcell even said in some of his posts that he was not forced to change any of his statements, but did so on his own.

In any case, we will be seeing Purcell in the sixth season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which premieres in May. And then he’ll be back in some form in season 7. And if there are any other twists in the story, Dominic Purcell will definitely let us know.

dark. Next. “Familiar faces” may be coming to The Walking Dead: World Beyond
