The Flash is officially losing two of its most entertaining cast members, Tom Cavanagh (Wells) and Carlos Valdes (Cisco), after the current season.

You’re probably asking yourself, didn’t Cavanagh already leave…like multiple times? Well, this time around, he’s leaving for reals. It appears that he was slated to leave back in season 6, according to Deadline. But due to COVID-19 production delays, Cavanagh had to return to wrap up the season 6 storylines and apparently silently ended his series regular run during the third episode of season 7, “Mother.”

We haven’t seen him since then, but The Flash’s producers have promised fans he would return at some point. When that will be is unknown, but it seems like Cavanagh has yet to take his final bow.

Over the past seven seasons, Cavanagh has more than proved his worth by playing multiple characters, including Harrison Wells and Eobard Thawne (Reverse Flash). his days as a series regular may be over, but that doesn’t mean guest appearances are ruled out!

By now we’ve become accustomed to Cavanagh coming and going from the series, but who I’m not ready to say goodbye to is Carlos Valdes. He’s hilariously played the role of S.T.A.R. Lab’s  resident genius Cisco Ramon since the beginning, and I’m not sure what The Flash even looks like without him. Luckily, Valdes is sticking around as a series regular through the end of the current season.

The Flash executive producer and showrunner Eric Wallace released a statement to Deadline: “Tom and Carlos have been an integral part of our show for seven seasons, and will be greatly missed. Both are incredible talents who created beloved characters that fans and audiences around the world have come to love. Which is why we are happily keeping the door open for return appearances.”

That’s what we like to hear! I know they’re not gone yet, but bring back Wells and Cisco!

The Flash revs up for its landmark 150th episode, which features surprise returns (and introductions)

While The Flash has a lot to mourn after this season comes to a close, there’s also a lot to celebrate, what with its 150th episode coming up. According to TV Line, Jessica Parker Kennedy is making her epic return as speedster (and Iris and Barry’s daughter) Nora West-Allen. It looks like we’re about to have a blast from the past…or future, or something. She’ll be back for a few episodes beyond the 150th, but how many is unknown at this time.

Nora West-Allen showed up on The Flash back in Season 5 but disappeared in the finale as a new timeline took over. I assume the show will bring her back via flash-forwards or some kind of wacky twist of the timeline. Whatever it is, I’m here for it!

Along with the return of Nora West-Allen, the 150th episode marks the debut of To All the Boys 2’s Jordan Fisher as Barry and Iris’ future son Bart Allen, “the fastest teenager on the planet.” The 150th episode is gearing up to be quite the event!

The 150th episode will be the 17th episode of this season. We’re currently approaching Episode 9, so we still have a while to go, but it will be worth the wait!
