Eva Green as Poison Ivy

Eva Green’s name has been thrown around as a potential candidate to play Poison Ivy for a long time now. The 40-year-old French actress starred in Zack Snyder’s 300: Rise of an Empire, was magnetic as Vanessa Ives in Penny Dreadful, held her own alongside Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, and has appeared in many other huge genre titles over the years. But surprisingly, she is yet to make a foray into the extensive DC universe.

That said, the actress herself may have other ideas. When a fan suggested she’d be perfect for Pamela Lillian Isley, an account that posts official updates about Eva Green downplayed the idea:

That tweet is certainly disappointing, but it won’t stop fans from imagining her as the Batman villain. Plus, it was from two years ago. A lot has happened since then, perhaps she’s changed her mind.

The reason so many fans want this role for Eva is obvious: she has the skills to pull it off. She can be vampy and seductive and wicked, but always brings a lot of human depth to her roles. Green is routinely the best part of whatever she’s in, and it’d be great to see her the best part of a Batman movie.
