Tessa Thompson made a huge impact during her Marvel Studios debut in Thor: Ragnarok, and she played a big role in Avengers: Endgame as well. Since Loki takes place outside of the current Marvel timeline, it’s not very likely that the Valkyrie we know and love will appear on the new Disney+ series, but given how much the show plays with time and reality, some version of her could show up.

To be fair, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie did appear in the series premiere thanks to a clip of her standing side by side with Thor and Loki ahead of their final battle with Hela. So if that counts as an appearance, then there she was.

However, if you’re looking for a bigger role in the new show or even a cameo, the answer is more vague: We don’t know. Yet.

Tessa Thompson could appear in Loki as Valkyrie

At this point, anything is possible. We already know there’s a Loki variant killing people out in the vast multiverse. Mobius needs “good” Loki to help him hunt the bad variant down. Since they can jump into any point of any timeline, Valkyrie could pop up should they land in the right place at the right time.

At the end of Thor: Ragnarok, Valkyrie was on a ship with Thor and Loki, looking for a new place for the people of Asgard to live. In Avengers: Infinity War, she was on that ship again, but it had been ravaged by Thanos. Then, in Endgame, she was on Earth in the new colony they’d established, and present for the big battle at the end.

So there are many places and times where Valkyrie might run into the new version of Loki at the center of Loki. For all we know she might show up in an early version of Asgard before Hela was banished.

Loki is a fun series because it’s chock full of possibilities; the writers don’t have to follow the established canon, which means we can’t rule out any cameos. It’s just a matter of waiting to see who turns up.
