Henry Cavill returns as Geralt in a new Witcher teaser, and more trailers

Filming on the second season of The Witcher, Netflix’s adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s Polish mythology-inspired fantasy books, is over. The show is coming right at us, and Netflix is getting to the point where it’s comfortable releasing little teases. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich posted the first (very brief) new footage of Henry Cavill back in costume as Geralt of Rivia, the titular witcher. Check it out:

So that passed by pretty quickly, but it’s all very in keeping with the show’s grim tone. And clearly Cavill hasn’t lost his ability to glower sullenly from under the locks of his long white wig.

We don’t know exactly when The Witcher season 2 drops on Netflix, but expect it later this year.

Henry Golding slices and dices in trailer for Snake Eyes: G.I. Origins

There are more trailers making the rounds. For instance, Paramount dropped one for Snake Eyes: G.I. Origins, a movie about the title character (Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding) learning the ways of the ninja before he goes on to become part of the G.I. Joe franchise. Watch below:

This is the fourth live-action G.I. Joe movie made since 2009, and while they’ve never been as popular as, say, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, every studio wants a franchise like this. And if they’re doing origin stories, more movies can’t be far behind.

I’m happy Henry Golding is blowing up, although honestly I’m more excited to see Andrew Koji as his mentor Storm Shadow, since Koji plays the main character in Warrior on HBO Max and that show is amazing.

Anyway, Snake Eyes: G.I. Origins will land in theaters on October 23, 2021.

Finally, watch the trailer for Pig, the movie where Nicolas Cage plays a truffle hunter who lives in the woods alone with his pig, and then bad men take the pig and Cage goes on a revenge quest.

It kind of sounds like John Wick but the dog is a pig and Keanu Reeves is Nicolas Cage, and that does not sound bad to me:

Pig is out on July 16, 2021.
