3. Jaime doesn’t care about the people of King’s Landing now?

In the penultimate episode of the show, “The Bells,” Jaime Lannister tells his brother Tyrion that he “never really cared much for” the people of King’s Landing, before the littlest Lannister sets his older brother free. This seems pretty at odds with his character, who always had a desire to protect those who can’t protect themselves, even if acting on it made him a pariah. At the age of 16, Jaime broke his Kingsguard vows to kill King Aerys II Targaryen befoer the Mad King could act on his plans to burn down King’s Landing. Jaime destroyed his reputation to save these people, knowing he would forever be branded as an oathbreaker; the word “kingslayer” would follow him around for the rest of his life. To hear him say that he never cared for those same people is rich, even coming from a Lannister.
