4. Sansa and the Knights of Deus Ex Machina

Why wouldn’t Sansa tell Jon that the knights of the Vale were coming to their aid in the penultimate episode of season 6, “Battle of the Bastards”? This must have been a huge narrative mistake, because the other option is that she was actively planning for the Boltons to destroy Jon’s army so that she could retake Winterfell for herself with the help of the Vale. I wouldn’t actually put it past her, as someone who has learned from Cersei and Littlefinger, but it would be really dark.

If there was even a chance that the knights would show up, she should have told Jon so that they could have rearranged their strategy, maybe waited for their arrival, rather than losing so many soldiers. Their army was slaughtered, Jon himself nearly died in that battle. Was that Sansa’s intent?
