Game of Thrones is two years gone. The first prequel series, House of the Dragon, is due out next year. Will that be the only Game of Thrones spinoff we get, or is HBO determined to give us more?

That was the question posed to HBO programming chief Casey Bloys during a recent press event at WarnerMedia headquarters in New York City, and while he didn’t spill the beans completely, he did say that there are “a lot of interesting development,” per Deadline.

"The good news is that everything you do [connected with GoT] becomes news. Any script that is development or script that is pitched becomes news and it inevitably get reported and people assume they are in production. Only House of The Dragon is in production, the rest is in development, and we will make a decision."

Set some 170 years before Game of ThronesHouse of the Dragon tells the story of a brutal Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. As for “the rest,” here’s a brief rundown of what we know HBO is considering:

  • 10,000 Ships: This one is all about Princess Nymeria’s exodus from her home on the Rhoyne river in Essos to Dorne, where she settled her people after much hardship and adventure.
  • 9 Voyages, aka Sea Snake: This show would be about the life of a young Corlys Velaryon, a famous mariner who is old by the time of House of the Dragon, where he’s played by Steve Toussaint.
  • Tales of Dunk and Egg: An adaptation of George R.R. Martin novellas about a hedge knight and his square traveling Westeros decades before the start of Game of Thrones.
  • Flea Bottom: It’s a show set in Flea Bottom, in King’s Landing. That’s about all we know.

And let’s not forget that there’s a play about the Tourney at Harrenhal in development, although that’s not an HBO thing really. As for the rest of those shows, Bloys stresses that House of the Dragon is the only one that’s been greenlit, but should HBO choose, they could blow Westeros wide open.

HBO shows off footage from House of the Dragon

In addition to his non-answers, Bloys also showed off what Deadline calls “an early clip” from House of the Dragon to people at this press event, although at least one attendee called it a “trailer”:

We’ve already seen official photos from the show. Might a trailer follow?
