Norman Reedus reveals what he’s taken from The Walking Dead set

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) has been a key character in the AMC zombie show for over a decade. Given that there have been over 150 episodes, that presents a whole lot of opportunities to take stuff from the set. And now the actor has revealed which item — or better yet items — he’s claimed.

It’s pretty easy to guess what it is he owns: Daryl’s signature crossbow. But what might surprise you is the amount of them that he’s taken home over the years. “I mean, I’ve taken a bunch of crossbows already, I have – I think I have nine crossbows,” he told IMDb in a fan Q&A.

“I think it’s a felony to own one , so I might be in trouble,” he added.

Another fan question asked Reedus which character from the show he would play other than Daryl. “If I could play another character in the Walking Dead Universe, I’d probably play Michonne,” he answered. “Everything’s in slow motion. The hair’s flying in slow motion.” It’s good to see he’s sticking with the badass characters of the franchise.

What other Walking Dead things does Norman Reedus own?

Every Walking Dead fan dreams of owning Daryl’s iconic crossbow, but how about some of his fellow actors’ hair? Seriously.

In the Q&A, Reedus said that he owns clippings of Andrew Lincoln’s (Rick Grimes) beard, and of the late Scott Wilson’s (Hershel Greene) hair. Yes, you read that right. At least these were given to him willingly rather than stolen, and he treats them like the prized possessions they are.

“I kept Andrew Lincoln’s beard, I have it in a bag in the refrigerator. And the late, great Scott Wilson’s ponytail, I kept that as well,” Reedus revealed back in 2019 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “In the refrigerator. Down in the bottom!”

I think most fans would rather own a crossbow.

The Walking Dead Carol-Daryl spinoff will be “completely different”

Norman Reedus returns as Daryl in The Walking Dead season 11, which premieres on August 22. After that, he’s already confirmed to be involved in a spinoff series alongside costar Melissa McBride (Carol). Of course, we’ve still got an entire 24-episode season to watch before the spinoff airs, but fans remain curious. So far, we know it will have a “road-show” style. Reedus teased what he could:

"I can tell you that it won’t look anything like The Walking Dead. It won’t look like an episode of TWD with just Daryl and Carol, it’ll be completely different."

That could mean literally anything. We seem to be in for something completely unique and new to the franchise. At least we have a little more information. That’s in contrast with the upcoming movies about Rick Grimes, over which fans are getting increasingly irked because we haven’t heard anything solid in a long while.
