Would Maisie Williams play Arya Stark again? “I’m waiting on the call!”

People fell in love with Game of Thrones in part because of the relatable, memorable characters, but sometimes the actors could be just entertaining. For instance, fans loved how close Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) were on set, particularly since they play sisters on the series. It was too perfect!

According to Digital Spy, there have been reports lately of the two friends drifting apart, which on its face is a little weird — how dare two people who no longer see each on set every day get lives of their own, right? But speaking on the Table Manners podcast, it’s clear Williams still has a lot of affection for her costar, saying that she’s more like a sister than a friend and how great it was to have someone on Game of Thrones who was going through the same things that she was:

"We got the role at the same time and we grew up on the show together and it was so amazing to have another person who was going through it at the same time because I think I just would have… it would have been too much otherwise."

Growing up is difficult enough without the pressure being in the public eye, so I can only imagine how helpful it was to have someone on hand who’s in the same boat as you. “Being a teenager is hard, then I was also on this show,” Williams continued. “I never knew who I was but I’ve come out the other side now. I’m not that different to the girl I was trying to be – but I was having a crisis.”

Williams said she used to get anxious whenever the cast had to promote the show at events, but she’s more used to it now, especially haven taken a “big break” from the spotlight. “I’m much better with public-facing.”

Maisie Williams is down to play Arya Stark again

Between her Frank Film Club and her role in an upcoming series about punk rock back the Sex Pistols, Williams is still out and about, but not doing anything on the order of Game of Thrones. And of course, she doesn’t need to, but it’s always possible she could return to the role of Arya Stark one day and let us see what the younger Stark sister has been doing since the end of the show. “Well I could do it because I didn’t die,” she said. “I’m waiting on the call!”
