Letitia Wright released from hospital after getting injured on Black Panther 2 set
By Dan Selcke
Marvel Studios is currently busy filming the sequel to its 2018 hit superhero movie Black Panther. Deadline reports that Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, was injured during an overnight shoot in Boston and was hospitalized. She has since been released.
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” a spokesperson for Marvel said before her release. “She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon.”
Sources told Deadline that the incident was minor and “will not have an impact on the film’s shooting schedule.”
When does Black Panther: Wakanda Forever come out?
The first Black Panther movie starred Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the king of the country of Wakanda and also the superhero Black Panther. Boseman died unexpectedly last year, and the new movie is said to focus more on Wakanda in general. Shuri, who is T’Challa’s brother and a whiz with technology, may step into the Black Panther role now, but we don’t know any plot details for sure.
Marvel is also readying a Wakanda TV show to air on Disney+, although we know even less bout that one than we know about the sequel movie. Still, it’s clear that they believe in growing this franchise and this world. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is due out on July 8, 2022.
