7. CSI: Coruscant

Speaking of spending time in one location, more live-action love needs to be shown to the city planet of Coruscant. Yes, we’ve seen it plenty of times in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but that’s an animated series. And Coruscant was also a big planet in the prequels, but the city was practically rendered in PlayStation 2 graphics. We deserve to see an updated Coruscant get its due on an in-depth live-action series.

Of course, there are plenty of city-specific shows out there in real life. There’s a million Housewives shows, but something akin to CSI or Law & Order would probably be more fitting for Star Wars.

When the Jedi aren’t around, who do you count on to stop petty crimes in the city? That’s what the show would be about. And considering we’re always dealing with events on such a large scale in the Star Wars movies (you know, saving the entire universe), it would be nice to see something where the stakes aren’t quite as high.

Lucasfilm almost had a show like this called Star Wars: Underworld. It would have dealt with the underbelly of crime in Coruscant. But I’d definitely like to see more of the city that isn’t just, well, the underworld. The Rise of Skywalker almost included scenes on Coruscant before J.J. Abrams took over, which is a shame. So a return to the planet in full, 4K glory would be absolutely wonderful to see.
