It was a big week for Game of Thrones stars — they’ve been winning boxing matches, turning looks and even dominating the Emmy Awards! Let’s start with Hafthor “Thor” Bjornsson, aka The Mountain, and his first-round victory over Devon Larratt in a brief-but-brutal exhibition boxing match.

It takes a lot of bravery to step into the ring against Bjornsson. The 32-year-old strongman is a former winner of Europe’s Strongest Man and World’s Strongest Man, which he achieved in the same calendar year. His opponent Devon Larratt is no pushover either as he’s recognized as one of the greatest arm wrestlers in world history. But with only five weeks to practice for the fight, Larratt was no match for the Westeros veteran. In fact, Larratt was defeated midway through the first round. Yikes!

Bjornsson was supposed to take on British strongman Eddie Hall this year in what would probably be a more competitive bout, but he sadly had to withdraw due to tearing his bicep. The rescheduled match will take place sometime next year.

Lena Headey producing TV show The Girl and the Goddess

In other news, Deadline confirms that Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) has signed on to produce a small screen adaptation of Nikita Gill’s The Girl and the Goddess. The novel is inspired by Hindu mythology and legend; it follows a character named Paro as she begins her education at a London university. But she doesn’t forget her upbringing in India, and Hindu deities appear to guide her.

“I’ve long been in love with Nikita’s words, The Girl and the Goddess is a tale that just begs to be seen and celebrated,” said Headey. “I’m so excited that we now get to tell this story.”

Headey will executive produce alongside writer Nikita Gill, Peephole Productions’ Tina Thor, Boat Rocker’s Katie O’Connell Marsh, and Nick Nantell. Currently, no release date is set.

Maisie Williams on the inspiration behind her Met Gala look

This year’s Met Gala featured tons of celebrities rocking their best fashions. Among the famous faces was Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), who wore a dress that paid homage to some of her favorite pop culture heroines through the years.

Fans of science fiction will no doubt recognize some references to Alien, Terminator, and The Matrix. This year will see the long-anticipated arrival of The Matrix 4, so it feels rather timely. “[I]nspired by my love for the action heroines that i grew up watching; ripley, trinity, sarah connor, last night i wore a custom, hand-embellished dress, train, corset, and matrix code bodysuit designed and made by the Reuben Selby team in London,” Williams wrote.

Perhaps she could’ve fit an Arya homage in there somewhere. That said, it does look spectacular, so we can’t really complain.

Finally, Apple TV+ dropped a trailer for Finch, starring Tom Hanks as a robotics engineer who’s been living in an underground bunker since a cataclysmic event turned the planet into a desolate wasteland. How is this related to Game of Thrones? Because it’s directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who directed iconic episodes like “The Battle of the Bastards” and “The Winds of Winter”!

Sapochnik is also one of the showrunners behind the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel show House of the Dragon. In the meantime, Finch streams on Apple TV+ on November 5.
