The Walking Dead: World Beyond cast on what’s really happening with the CRM

The mysterious “helicopter people” have always perplexed TWD fans because they come out of nowhere and seem to have access to unlimited resources. They took Rick Grimes away, for crying out loud.

By the end of the World Beyond premiere there was no question the CRM was up to no good after they were seen pillaging the remains of the Campus Colony, and in the season finale the revelation that Campus Colony was gone stunned the survivors and made them question everything.

But what is the CRM after? What’s their plan? Can they be trusted?

Natalie Gold (Lyla): “I think as an audience, the fun is going on the journey this season. And I think in the first couple of episodes of season two there’s always going to be surprises, but I hope as an audience you can trust what you’re watching because I think that the information is in front of you, and there’s not a huge lie happening. There are just questions on top of more questions that will become revealed, which is exciting.”

Joe Holt (Dr. Leo Bennett): “I think the beauty of any television show or any piece of art for public consumption is that you’re going to go where you want to go. If you take 10 people, they’re going to have 10 different points of view based on what they’re watching. And that’s the whole point of a dramatic show, is who is right, who is wrong. With well-crafted characters, everybody’s right and everybody’s wrong. So I think part of the ride is whether the CR is operating for the greater good, is the CRM working for the greater good of the CR or the planet? All those questions are valid questions. And I think that being led on a bit of a psychological goose chase is sort of the point. And hopefully that’s what we do in the second season.”
