Will there be an Avengers 5 movie coming soon?

It goes without saying that Marvel Studios has enjoyed quite the lucrative success with its growing roster of over 20 film superhero films. And without a doubt, it’s been the success of the Avengers movies that have truly built up fans’ love for the movie studio over the years.

It started with 2012’s Avengers, which was the first time we saw our favorite heroes come together to kick butt. And as the franchise grew with more heroes, the Avengers returned for a team up again in Age of Ultron. Then, the moment we had all been waiting for came: the Avengers’ showdown with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and their final standoff with the villain in Avengers: Endgame.

Endgame was so well received that it quickly made its way up the charts to become the No. 1 movie in the world. And for just over a year, the movie beat James Cameron’s Avatar (which only took the top spot again because the movie was rereleased in China in 2021).

Of course, the MCU isn’t done; it’s coming out with new films like Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings and Eternals. And we’re sure many fans will be wanting to see these new heroes join the ranks among the Avengers. And there’s the new threat of Kang the Conqueror introduced in Loki. So, will the heroes come back for Avengers 5? Here’s what we know.

The Avengers 5 details

While there are currently no explicit plans for an Avengers 5, Marvel boss Kevin Feige did hint that something could be in the works in the future. Feige said back in August:

"I think we want there to be a reasonable amount of time from the Endgame to start a new saga, which is already underway and already started. And then you need time, as you did in Phase 1, to build that saga before you start bringing everyone together."

So Feige definitely isn’t saying “No” to Avengers 5. And in fact, it does sound like we will get an Avengers 5 eventually, they’ll just need some time to build up the universe.

Previously, each of the three movie phases had its own Avengers movie. But now it looks like Phases 4 and 5 could be completely devoid of any Avengers movie. Again, you definitely need time to build up the story. And on top of that, so many characters and sequels are being introduced that it will take some doing to interconnect them.

The good news is that a lot more heroes are beginning to crossover with one another in their own respective movies and TV series. So while we may not get an official Avengers 5 for some time, these mini-team-ups can hold us over until then.
