Let’s dreamcast a Harry Potter television reboot on HBO Max

Sadie Sink as Ginny Weasley
Sadie Sink is a natural redhead with plenty of spunk, and that combination is perfect for playing Ginny Weasley. Unfortunately, the Harry Potter films never quite captured Ginny’s personality in full, but in the books she’s got a lot in common with Max from Stranger Things. Not only is Ginny a bit of a tomboy (courtesy of having six older brothers), but she’s sassy and confident, easily able to stand on her own alongside the Golden Trio. That’s something we never quite got from Bonnie Wright’s version of the character, but given the right script, Sink would do Ron’s sister justice.
Sink looks exactly as we’d expect Ginny to after reading the Harry Potter novels, plus she’s already portrayed a character with a similar personality. This match feels like a no-brainer, and everything about the actress’ performance as Max only strengthens our belief that she’d be a good fit for the role.
Remember the time Max and Lucas broke up, and Max was forced to shrug it off and be civil as they attempted to take on monsters from the Upside Down? Well, that’s nearly the same situation Ginny finds herself in when she and Harry break up so that he can go hunt down the Dark Lord and his Horcruxes. Now let’s talk about Max’s unlikely friendship with Eleven, because it mirrors the unlikely friendship between Ginny and Hermione fairly well.
Sink’s other film credits include The Glass Castle, Eli, and The Americans, and the actress has also worked on Dear Zoe and Fear Street 2, both of which are currently in post-production. It would be nice to see an actress with such a diverse acting background tackle the role of Ginny.
