Freya Allan as Luna Lovegood

Freya Allan’s role as Ciri in Netflix’s The Witcher is a far cry from Harry Potter‘s Luna Lovegood, but we think the actress would be able to play the part of Harry’s quirky Ravenclaw pal quite well. For one, she looks a lot like Luna is described — but don’t worry, that’s not the only reason she’s got our vote.

Although Ciri is going through a struggle that’s far different than the dangers most of our Harry Potter characters face, there’s an otherworldliness about her character that matches Luna’s spacey demeanor. Allan could take Ciri’s constant shock and surprise at the terrible things happening around her and turn it into the sort of awe Luna views the world with. Both characters are unobtrusive but still have a very noticeable presence. That’s a balance that takes skill to capture and Allan has already proven herself capable.

And if there’s one thing these two characters have in common, it’s loss — specifically, the loss of a mother figure early in life. If Allan can capture the emotions surrounding that loss, then she’ll be able to put herself into’s Luna’s shoes with ease. (Well, as long as she believes in Nargles, anyway.)

Like Noah Shnapp, Sadie Sink, and several of the other actors and actresses on this list, Allan is also fairly new to the acting scene, but not so much that she doesn’t have a reservoir of talent to draw on. She’s appeared in several other shorts and television series in smaller roles, as well as in movies like Gunpowder Milkshake.
